Welcome to Life Songs. I am thrilled to be a part of a life stories project with eleven other talented photographers! In this series, we will be documenting our lives with a different theme song each month. The images in the posts will be taken from a less traditional approach, showcasing “real life” in our own ways. This month’s inspiration is ” If you want to sing out, sing out” by Cat Stevens. So for this song after listening to it for a while I thought it would be fun to really capture  Alexa the way she truly is… Wild hair, not a lot of clothes, cheesy grins, funny faces.. Just her. She loves to play dress up and jump on our bed. This is SOooo her. No perfect portraits, no perfect smooth skin, there are mistakes everywhere  but these are images that when I see them this is the wild girl who steals my heart everyday!

Confession: My almost three year old is obsessed with having her hair down, having on as little clothing as possible, Loves her “Zebra Pants”, and probably her most special trait, she is obsessed with biting her toes, you thought biting fingernails was bad…. But this is who she is, and this is how I want to remember her.
