What makes you Joyful?

There are so many things that make me feel joyful, a warm spring day after weeks of rain and bitter cold. You know that day, you run around opening all the windows and sit out on your front step for a few minutes basking in that wonderful warm sun letting the warmth sink into your cold bones warming away months of winter cold.  The feel of that fresh, moist young wet grass on your feet and feeling the crisp cool breeze on your face.

But my ultimate joy is being with my little family, doing simple things that warm my heart and soul; capturing and preserving a glimpse with my camera. THIS is what I treasure about what I do; that I can capture these intimate little moments not only for myself but others. It’s not about the dress, or tu-tu, hair-bows or props. It’s not the spectacular location and manicured gardens. It’s simple. A little neighborhood park tucked away in Connecticut, a little girl, a swing and a daddy with arms that can push her to soar in the sky and make her feel like she can *FLY*

THIS is what I do, THIS is the meaning of my work…………………………….

Waiting for daddy………

Where is he??

getting ready to *FLY*

…… and “WE ARE OFF”!!

JOY

higher, Higher, HIGHER……

and one in color, ’cause daddy loves COLOR!

2 minutes|CT & Long Island Children’s Photography|Lexi-Bella Photography

A good friend of mine was in from CO last week with her little one. Her husband and mine were childhood friends and we both met right after high school so basically we grew into adults together. It was crazy weird to sit and look at our two girls together and realize they were ours! Even funnier was looking at our girls who are practically the spitting images of their dads except for long hair!

Miss. A. wasn’t very interested in pictures but rather wanted to spend the time hanging out in the playroom with “Lexi-Bella” so she pretty much gave me, oh, TWO MINUTES to work my magic! I got a few and she was adorable for two minutes, then got up walked over to the door and say “DONE”!

“Ok, I guess we are done”! No messing with this 2 year old!

Luv and miss  Ya “T” and “A”…. You HAVE TO MOVE BACK!!!!!

Born on the first day of Spring this GORGEOUS little “blossom” is the definition of “NEW”! I had the privilege of spending a few, well, more than a few, hours with sweet little N and her parents this weekend! There is something so special and magical about a newborn session, from the excitement and anticipation of the call or in this case, email that baby N. has arrived, to those precious hours spent with the family rocking and posing something so tiny and sweet. I find myself many times just grinning from ear to ear during these sessions remembering my own little one at this age and marveling over these powerful and magical little creatures that capture our hearts so quickly!  My goal is always the same to capture those wrinkly little toes, long finger nails, fuzzy little shoulder and sweet newborn smiles that make you melt and bring you back to those very special first days!

Happy Birthday Baby N. may your birthday each spring be a reminder of all things new and beautiful!

A sweet smiled captured just as she drifts off to sleep!

Those tiny little hands and perfect little fingernails…….

Curled up, just like when she was in the womb……

I love the little lines on her feet…. Pretty soon they will chub up and be gone!

And probably my FAVORITE from the session, a perfect example of the AMAZING bond between Mother and daughter. A powerful image of love and beauty, and they share the same smile!
